Clarence Little Athletics Centre would like to express our sympathy to the family and friends of Paul Street, Life member of the TLAA who passed away after a battle with illness on Saturday afternoon. Paul was a tireless worker for Little Athletics in Tasmania. Paul spent 15 years as a Board member of the TLAA, was the longest serving State coach, and introduced thousands of school children to our sport through his work with the LAPS (Little Athletics program for schools) program. Above all, he always put the kids first, and the politics last. His passion for the State team, their deportment and behaviour as ambassadors for the State were legendry. To his wife Rosemary, his family, in particular Rachel, Carl, Chloe & Sophie Kitto who are Clarence members, we extend our deepest sympathy. Rest in Peace, Paul Street. |

The 2011/12 TLAA Aurora State Race Walk Championships will be held in Launceston on the 11th of February 2012, in conjunction with the Multi Event Championships.As a result, there is no regular meet at Kangaroo Bay this week! Good luck to all our athletes competing! |
Our Centre Championships resume next Saturday 18 February with the hurdles & program 1 field events. For all Championship events, Clarence athletes must have competed in the event twice at little athletics during the season, one of which must have been at a CLAC meet. Athletes must be in full & correct uniform - and that includes PLAIN black shorts, and must have their 25 events badge attached to the shirt. Championship events continue on the 25th of Feb & 3rd of March for the balance of events. Please bring your ticket books along to ensure there are no problems with athletes eligability on the day.

Congratualtions to Caitlin Stalker who broke her own U15 200m Hurdles record on Saturday. Caitline reduced the record by an amazing 1.1s down to 33.6s. |
