A massive THANK YOU to our 133 athletes and families who attended our Twilight last night. Your patience was required, received and appreciated!
Unfortunately when our track was re painted our Hurdle markers were not completed, therefore our amazing Phil (aka dad of Charlotte & Track Crew) had to manually work out all the distances between hurdles spaces and lead in metres etc. This is what was happening behind the scenes from 3pm yesterday, on top of the normal set up tasks. What you actually saw was unfortunately just the track delays (& poor Phil being stretched to the limit!!) Again – thanks for your patience and thank you to those who pitched in when we needed hurdles moved etc.
Now that most athletes are registered – REMINDER you MUST register after two trials – we can look at Age Group numbers and tweak our Programs to limit the amount of wait time between Events. Obviously each season our numbers fluctuate in age groups and therefore we are always switching things around to be as efficient as possible. A note to AGCs or anyone taking a group – please let the Tower (Announcer) know when you have finished a field event when you take the folder back, that way we can tick you off our run sheet and get your sorted for your next event. You do not need the folder for Track Events (no tick off etc required on the Track, just meet the athletes at the track and pop them in lanes/heats) and if you could bring the folder back after each Field event that will avoid confusion. THANK YOU!
The delays certainly didn’t affect our athletes though with loads of new PBs, some Qualifiers AND 3 NEW RECORDS!
Jemima G has started another blisteringly early season in hot form with a Record in the U12G Hurdles, new record 15.1 AND Triple Jump, new record 9.51m. Congratulations Jemima on yet another great Season start!
Congratulations also to Xavier L for smashing the U14B Shot Put Record, new record 12.74m and I’ve heard there’s more to come from him!
THANK YOU to our regular volunteers and the new faces who took on all kinds of tasks last night, it was great to see new people getting involved & you did a great job.
RESULTS are now updated Results – Clarence Little Athletics Centre received from Phil at 12.33am this morning – legend!
GOODLUCK once again to our CLAC athletes competing at the Coles State Meet #2 and to the rest of our CLAC families, enjoy the weekend!
