Its GO time this weekend for our first meet back!

Program 1 – no Tiny Tots yet – Clarence High 815 for 830 start.

This season we will be designating Age Groups to the

Set Up – Canteen – BBQ – Pack Up Roster

and we will make the roster available on the website so you can all be prepared and chat with other parents in your age groups and assign roles prior to your groups date.

In essence, 2 meets over the whole season you will be required to help out over the whole course of the meet with various roles among the group.

This week we have Under 10 Boys & Girls

– please arrive at 730 for Set Up.

Returning athletes please be registered – we have bibs ready for those already registered.

Fees for this year’s season are:

Tiny Tots (born 2019-2020) $50

Under 6 (born 2018) – Under 15 (born 2009) $160.

If you are new this season, please remember you are entitled to two free meets before registering. We are not able to offer refunds, so please take advantage of the trial to be sure Little Athletics is right for you and your family.

Returning athletes, remember results only show once you are registered, so don’t delay!

Our season will commence at Clarence High on Saturday 7th October, so less than 5 weeks to go!!

While registrations are not open just yet, we can share the calendar dates for the coming season so you can lock in the key dates!

CLAC will be returning to the track and field on Saturday October 7th 2023 at Clarence High School – stay tuned for registrations and see you on the 7th!

Another fabulous season of Little Athletics is almost here! Registrations open in early September and the link to do so will be posted here when we are set to launch!

Until then, feel free to take a look around the website and Facebook page and have a read of the handy info below for those first timers or those just needing a reminder of how we roll:

• Most of our meets are Saturday mornings, 8.30am – 11.30/12, held at Clarence High School, with the occasional weeknight twilight meet.  The competition calendar will be posted here once finalised.  There is no requirement to turn up to every meet, just come when you can.

• Our competition caters for children born 2018 (Under 6 age group) to 2009 (Under 15), with an activities-based Tiny Tot program for 3 and 4 year olds. 

• Athletes compete in 4-5 events each meet, rotating through 3 different programs.  Each program has a combination of runs, jumps and throws.

• In addition to our centre meets, Little Athletics Tasmania hold a number of State events at Hobart, Launceston and Penguin throughout the season.  Some of these are free, some incur an additional cost.  But all are optional. 

• Results are published to resultshq.com.au after each meet.  (Personal log-in required.)  Results are only available for registered athletes.

• Parent help is required at all events.  Age groups are assigned a co-ordinator, but this is pretty much always a volunteer parent, and additional hands are always required.  Many parents find this involvement rewarding, and not a chore at all. 

• Uniform is compulsory.  The maroon and white centre top can be purchased at our club rooms, paired up with plain black shorts and appropriate footwear.  Other merchandise is available for purchase, but is optional.  

• You can have your first two meets for free, but after that, you must sign up.  We cannot offer refunds, so please take advantage of the two-week trial to be sure this is the right sport for your child and your family. 

And if all of this is a little overwhelming, the best thing to do is to come along once the season commences, listen out to your child’s age group being called, and join in!  Our committee, returning athletes and families will all gladly help anyone with questions, so that you can learn all the fun and rewards of Little Athletics!
